Carnivore Restaurant opened its doors in the September of 1980. As part of the Tamarind Hotel Group, The Restaurant then targeted Game Meat and only to Carnivores (People who eat meat). On its way to expand, Carnivore Restaurant introduced more menus to their previous menu to accommodate all types of meal / food fanatics.
Some of the meat found at Carnivore are Crocodile meats, Ostrich Meat, and Camel Meat all are served from the Menu. Carnivore is regarded as one of the oldest restaurants in Kenya. ALl tourist who book safaris to Kenya, always visit Carnivore after they have done their safaris giving them a taste of the Kenyan Delicacies.
Whole joints of meat – leg of lamb and pork, ostrich, rump of beef, sirloin, rack of lamb, spare ribs, sausages, chicken wings, skewered kidneys, even crocodile – are roasted on traditional Maasai swords over a huge, charcoal pit that dominates the entrance of the restaurant.
Carnivore Restaurant also has grounds that holds concerts and shows holding to upto 20,000 people Max Capacity.
