Nairobi  National Park

Nairobi National Park is located on the outskirts of Nairobi. The small park (113sq. km) contains all the major animal species with the exception of the Elephant. The sight of wildlife grazing majestically against the backdrop of the city skyline is a pleasant experience.

Nairobi Animal Orphanage

The Orphanage is home to deeply traumatized, often injured, suffering from shock and grief having lost their mother and family- orphaned animals from all over Kenya. The orphanage is not big – in fact, it is rather small, but this helps make it very intimate and easy to wander around.

What adds to its charm and sense of personalization is that every enclosure has a notice describing the animals which allows you to relate to them. The Orphanage educates the public about wildlife and environmental conservation in Kenya. One can read the life history of each animal – whether it was rescued or born in captivity.

Also, the museum contains dinosaur fossils found in Kenya. Within the museum there is a cafe /restaurant with a large balcony that offers a great and breathtaking jungle view. It also has touristy shops selling local handmade jewellery, African artifacts and souvenir items. There is an enormous statue of a dinosaur just at the entrance to the museum which is always a hit with children. Another major tourist attraction within the grounds is the Snake Park which has just been refurbished.
